    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 5x8-hour shifts (4x10 schedule can be accommodated) | Full-Time

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned PACU patients
    • Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
    • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
    • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
    • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
    • Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
    • Minimum 2 years of PACU or related nursing specialty experience
    • Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
    • Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
    • Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
    • ASAP start availability required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Critical Care and/or PreOp nursing experience highly recommended
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system strongly preferred
    • Experience with a diverse patient population including general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, cath lab, ENDO, GYN, and pediatric cases
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
