Key Responsibilities Provide Phase I PACU care for pre- and post-surgical patients across General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology/GYN, Bariatrics, HEENT, Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy procedures. Provide Phase I PACU care for pre- and post-surgical patients across General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology/GYN, Bariatrics, HEENT, Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy procedures
Manage arterial lines, central lines, IV vasopressors, PCA pumps, and epidurals; administer blood products, narcotics/analgesics, and reversal agents
Perform dysrhythmia recognition and management, RASS assessment, pain assessment and management, and conscious sedation monitoring
Implement Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols and manage patients receiving General, Local, Spinal, and Monitored Anesthesia Care, as well as Nerve Blocks
Float to Pre-Op as needed to meet facility demands
Fulfill on-call requirements: 6 shifts per 6-week period, including 2 weekend call shifts and 4 night call shifts per 6 weeks
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (New Mexico license may be pending at time of submission)
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
PALS certification required (RQI certifications not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of PACU or relevant RN experience
COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form signed by a provider
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; non-local driver's license required on file
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Level III Trauma patients and pediatric patient populations
Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
Experience with ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain management, and care of ventilated patients
Familiarity with Pre/Post Cath Lab procedures and 12-lead EKG acquisition
