Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting up to 34 operating rooms
Support patients undergoing all major surgical services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, cystoscopy, CT/MRI, and ECT procedures
Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and manage post-anesthesia recovery at a 1:2 patient ratio
Float to pediatric PACU as needed, providing age-appropriate care across both pediatric and adult populations
Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as required
Report as assigned by unit management in the event of a declared emergency, which may include remaining on-site until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team
Required Qualifications
Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a directly related specialty
Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required)
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as verified by address on driver's license)
Current NURSYS report required with submission (must be dated within 4 weeks of submission date)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing; Critical Care Post-Op experience strongly preferred
Experience caring for high-acuity pediatric surgical patients in a pre-op or recovery setting
Familiarity with regional anesthesia monitoring and management
