    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU / Pre & Post Anesthesia Care

    Location

    Morgantown, WV | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Monday–Friday, Day/Evening | No night or weekend shifts | Rotating holiday coverage (winter & summer) | Call requirement expected per schedule period

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 post-anesthesia recovery care within a high-volume pre/post day surgery unit (70 beds)
    • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–1:2 (Phase 1) and 1:3 (Phase 2) across a diverse surgical caseload including Ortho, ENT, Ophthalmology, GYN, Urology, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and Podiatry
    • Monitor and manage patients requiring RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators; recover ICU-level patients as needed
    • Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
    • Collaborate with Perioperative Care Assistants (PCAs) and interdisciplinary team; support charge nurse coverage when needed
    • Float to Pre/Post areas on other units as needed per staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure
    • BLS certification – AHA required
    • ACLS certification – AHA required
    • PALS certification – AHA required
    • Minimum 1 year of PACU or pre/post anesthesia nursing experience
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for ICU-level patients in a PACU setting
    • Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, urology, and endoscopy
    • Experience with RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation
