Key Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for adult and pediatric patients across a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.). Candidates must be able to complete an on-site drug screen prior to assignment start; panels include Amphetamine, Barbiturate, Benzodiazepine, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Methadone, Opiates, Oxycodone, PCP, Marijuana, and Buprenorphine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for adult and pediatric patients across a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.)
• Monitor and manage patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, A-lines, and intubation
• Assist with coverage in the Pre-Op area as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health record systems
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending license accepted at submission; must be active before start date)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience recovering patients across all surgical specialties except cardiac
• Pediatric patient care experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates must be able to complete an on-site drug screen prior to assignment start; panels include Amphetamine, Barbiturate, Benzodiazepine, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Methadone, Opiates, Oxycodone, PCP, Marijuana, and Buprenorphine

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of PACU or post-anesthesia care experience preferred
• Critical care background strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records preferred
