Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for outpatient surgery patients; Pre-op/Post-op experience required
Care for a diverse patient population including general surgery, GI, orthopedic, urology, spine, gynecology, breast oncology/reconstruction, podiatry, cardioversion, heart cath, IR procedures, and bronchoscopy cases
Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 in an 18-bed outpatient surgery unit
Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Participate in on-call shifts, approximately 2–4 call shifts every 4 weeks, including weekend on-call coverage (0700–0700)
Collaborate with a shared PACU/OPS nursing team while maintaining the ability to work independently during call shifts
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
ACLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Pre-op and post-op clinical experience required
Ability and willingness to participate in on-call scheduling, including weekends
Preferred Experience / Skills
Hospital-based nursing experience
Experience with Meditech EMR
Background in PACU or outpatient surgical settings
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to variable staffing during call
