    Registered Nurse – PACU

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 4x10 Hours (0900–1930) | Onsite | Weekends required once per 4-week period | Call required once per 4-week period (one primary and one secondary call shift per 4-week schedule)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a diverse patient population including pediatric (1 year and older), adult, and geriatric patients undergoing same-day surgeries and inpatient admissions
    • Recover patients following procedures requiring general anesthetics and/or spinal anesthesia across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, general, robotic, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, cardiovascular lab, GI, interventional radiology, bariatric, ENT, oral, and plastics
    • Support cardiovascular lab procedures requiring anesthesia, including Watchman, TAVR, and EP cases
    • Perform pre-op assessments for ICU patients on an as-needed basis
    • Practice in accordance with ASPAN standards within a 29-bay, two-floor PACU unit at a Level II Trauma Center
    • Float between units or sister facilities as required by the assignment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse license — compact license must be in hand at time of submission
    • Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
    • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
    • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal; post-offer RTO may not be considered or granted
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    • 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • PALS certification preferred
    • Experience recovering cardiovascular or interventional radiology patients
    • Familiarity with high-acuity surgical specialties including thoracic, trauma, and neuro/spine
