Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and interventional procedures, including spine, general, GI, colorectal, total joints, GYN, robotics, TAVR, and interventional radiology cases
Monitor and manage patients using GE monitoring equipment and document care using Meditech EMR
Float between PACU areas including Main, Surgical Robotics, and Orthopedic Surgery Center as needed based on daily surgery schedule
Maintain patient ratios in accordance with ASPAN standards, typically 1 RN to 2 patients, with up to 3 for same-day surgery patients
Manage high-acuity patients including high neuro volume, stroke patients, and critical care overflow
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of RNs and patient care technicians across a combined Pre-Op and PACU environment of 59 total bays
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Colorado or through compact licensure
Minimum 2 years of experience in Critical Care and/or PACU
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
Ability to float between multiple PACU units as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with stroke care and high neuro-volume patient populations
Familiarity with Meditech EMR
Flexible and outgoing personality well-suited to a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
