Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in an outpatient surgery center setting
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, airway, and neurological status during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe patient transitions
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Adhere to holiday coverage expectations, including working 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact eligibility
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in PACU or post-anesthesia nursing
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center environment
- Familiarity with a high-volume, fast-paced surgical recovery setting
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills in the post-operative phase
