    Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–10:30 PM | Unit operates 24/7 with call coverage on holidays

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide post-anesthesia nursing care for higher-acuity surgical patients across a range of specialties including thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery
    • Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
    • Collaborate with charge nurses and supervisors within a structured unit leadership model
    • Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
    • Fulfill holiday coverage requirements, including 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience
    • AHA ACLS certification required
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Cerner electronic health records
    • Familiarity with high-acuity post-surgical patient populations
    • Experience across multiple surgical specialties including neurology and thoracic cases
