Key Responsibilities
Provide post-anesthesia nursing care for higher-acuity surgical patients including thoracic, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, urological, and general surgery cases
Monitor and manage patient recovery in a fast-paced PACU environment operating 24/7
Collaborate with charge nurses and supervisors to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes
Participate in on-call coverage for holidays as required by unit scheduling
Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for high-acuity post-surgical patients across multiple surgical specialties
Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system
Experience working in a unit with charge nurse and supervisor oversight structure
