Key Responsibilities
- Rotate across Pre-Op, PACU, and Procedure RN roles within the Endoscopy unit based on daily assignment needs
- Provide pre-operative nursing care and patient preparation in a multi-bed pre-op setting
- Deliver post-anesthesia recovery care in the PACU, monitoring patients following endoscopic and procedural interventions
- Assist with a broad range of adult and pediatric endoscopic procedures including EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EBUS, Bronchoscopy, ION Navigational Bronchoscopy, stent placements, PEG placement, and more
- Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Olympus Scopes, ERBE, Medivator, ION, Boston Scientific, and Cook devices; document care using Cerner EMR
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned — expected to include approximately 6 weeknight call shifts and 2 twenty-four-hour weekend call shifts per 6-week scheduling period; requirements may be less but will not exceed these amounts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a Compact State
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience in PACU, Pre-Op, or Endoscopy
- This is a travel position; candidates should be prepared to remain local to the assignment for the duration of the contract rather than commuting daily from a permanent residence
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Pediatric endoscopy experience (patients ranging from under 1 year to 18 years of age)
- Pulmonary endoscopy experience including bronchoscopy-related procedures
- Endoscopy technician experience
