- Schedule: 4x10
- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay: $2750 to $2950
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions
- Perform detailed post-operative assessments, including airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and pain evaluations
- Monitor patients for complications related to anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and pain management treatments as prescribed
- Operate and monitor advanced patient monitoring equipment, including cardiac monitors, pulse oximetry, and infusion pumps
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and post-operative emergencies
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room staff, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe patient recovery
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care, medications, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and PACU quality measures
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting comfort and safe recovery
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- PALS Certification preferred
- Experience caring for adult post-surgical patients in an acute care PACU setting
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery, airway management, pain control, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Excellent assessment, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
