Completes all unit-specific competencies and requirements to care for critically ill patients. Participates in quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice. Completes clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively and in a timely manner for assigned patients. Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes appropriate action. Demonstrates knowledge of current practice standards and applicable nurse practice acts. Communicates patient information effectively for continuity and safe care through handoffs and collaboration with the medical team. Conducts hourly rounding in collaboration with nursing assistants for all assigned patients. Identifies and assists in correcting patient care safety issues.
