Description:
The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe.
The RN provides care to these patients through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and collaboration with other healthcare team members.
The RN is expected to perform their duties according to established standards of care and the core values set forth by the Division of Nursing.
The RN reports to the assigned Unit Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Nursing Process Assessment:
Performs assessment and data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner.
Focuses on the physiological, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.
Unit Description:
Post-anesthesia care unit serves a diverse range of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, neurosurgery, general, thoracic, podiatry, and gastrointestinal procedures.
This unit operates as a Level III trauma center.
Day-to-day operations involve the post-operative recovery of patients.
