Completes all unit-specific competencies and requirements for critically ill patients. Participates in quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice. Completes clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively and in a timely manner for all assigned patients. Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes appropriate actions. Practice reflects knowledge of current practice standards. Communicates patient information appropriately for continuity and safe care through handoffs, walking rounds, and physician/provider interaction. Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols. Implements resources and initiatives to improve patient safety. Works within guidelines of a Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and the adoption of safe practices. Addresses issues through appropriate use of the chain of command. Completes hourly rounding in collaboration with nursing assistants on all assigned patients. Identifies and assists in correcting patient care safety issues. Assists with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS. Must demonstrate contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion. Ability to safely administer procedural sedation and document sedation as per policies and procedures.
