Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in critical care or PACU in an acute care setting of similar size and complexity. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with airway management. Experience with central lines and post-procedure care as obtained in a critical care/PACU environment. License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS EPIC charting experience required Must-Have: Ability to recognize life-threatening conditions and intervene appropriately. Ability to educate patients and provide discharge instructions utilizing electronic health records. Demonstrated critical thinking skills. Description: Provides competent care to patients with a variety of diagnoses including cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, neurological, renal, endocrine diseases, sepsis, carcinoma, and pre- and post-operative surgical patients. Responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating an interdisciplinary plan of patient/family care. Manages care through delegation and direction of other nursing team members. Anticipates and recognizes potential problems and intervenes appropriately. Updates Charge Nurse, Physician, and other nursing staff as needed. Provides individualized nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Addresses the bio-physical and psychosocial needs of patients. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing processes. Communicates effectively in English to perform job duties. Must be able to travel as required. Access to PHI at a necessary level to complete job duties. Timely completion of unit-specific orientation and competencies is expected.
