Must-Have: Experience in trauma, GYN, ortho, general surgery, urology, breast, neuro, vascular, cardiac crani, TAVR, oncology, Whipples, bronchoscopy, recovery from cath lab, IR, and GI cases.
Description:
Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the relevant health system within the past year.
The main PACU has 19 beds, while a secondary PACU has 13 beds.
Nurses trained in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 will float to assist with discharges.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:2.
Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Respiratory therapy will assist with ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
ICU patients recover in PACU.
Registered Nurses are expected to read cardiac strips.
Shifts are scheduled as 12-hour shifts, with opportunities for self-scheduling for on-call shifts.
Weeknight and weekend call requirements apply, with mandatory call picking up 2 shifts in a 6-week period.
The call response time is 1 hour.
Floating between the main PACU and the secondary PACU is required.
The facility provides scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation is included.
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using the EPIC system.
A BSN is not required for this position.
