The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Utilizing the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs and as appropriate to care, treatment, and services. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor. Encourages teamwork and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts, implementing practice changes in compliance with regulatory standards.
