Description: PACU RN needed for a 13-week assignment. We care for patients who have had various types of surgeries, including but not limited to vascular, general, thoracic, gynecology, neuro, orthopedic, kidney transplants, and whipples. Ventricular monitoring is available for drains, but not for ICP monitoring in the PACU. Patients requiring ICP monitoring will transfer directly to ICU if needed. Familiarity with art lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs is required. The PACU environment is high acuity and high volume, often described as chaotic in the evenings. Overnight boarders commonly include ICU craniotomies and step-down or med-surg patients. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
