TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Midland, Texas, 79701!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience recovering patients from orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, dental, gynecological, and pediatric surgeries. - Proficiency with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines. - Pediatric experience and critical care experience strongly preferred. - Experience with coverage in Pre-Op preferred. - Experience in a Level II trauma environment preferred. Description: Position is for PACU with a required start date within the next 3-5 weeks. Call is required, approximately 6-8 days per month, with self-scheduling options. Requires management of patients with extensive surgical backgrounds, including pediatric cases. Candidates must possess skills in blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressor management, and procedural sedation monitoring. Experience in post-epidural management is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of pain assessment and management as well as knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocols. The PACU handles a diverse population, offering a heavy volume of cases in orthopedic, general, gynecological, and neurological specialties. Other necessary skills include airway assessment, emergency medication administration, and managing pediatric patients through recovery. Candidates must be equipped to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team framework. Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety are essential. Experience with charting systems, particularly Cerner, is preferred.
