Job Title: Level 3 RN - PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 3x12.0 Hours per Shift: 12.0 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in specialty area License: Current license by the State Board of Nursing Certifications: CPR certification required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Previous experience in the specific nursing area preferred. Description: Position summary: A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, and collaborates with other healthcare members. Assists in the orientation process of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities: Conducts a comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of the patient according to established standards, including the assessment of safety and educational needs. Participates in the establishment of a collaborative plan of care based on the assessment data with all other involved disciplines and communicates this plan of care as appropriate. Implements and evaluates the plan of care based on identified patient goals and intended outcomes. Modifies the plan of care based on reassessment of the patient's status. Completes all documentation according to established standards and utilizes the established documentation tools appropriately. Assesses the readiness of the patient and significant others to learn and implements the individualized education plan according to need. Actively participates in department or unit-based initiatives, including such activities as provision of in-service opportunities or volunteering to serve as project point for committees and task forces. Provides age-appropriate care for the specific population served as detailed by the organization. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating standards of performance each and every day.
