- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Day Shift
- Schedule: 4×10
- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay:$2200 to $2400
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions
- Perform detailed post-operative assessments, including airway, neurological status, pain management, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Monitor vital signs and identify changes in patient condition requiring immediate intervention
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, pain management therapies, and other post-operative treatments
- Manage post-anesthesia complications, including respiratory distress, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, and pain control
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, operating room staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient recovery
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations, discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and PACU protocols
- Participate in patient transfers to inpatient units or discharge planning as appropriate
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting a safe and efficient recovery process
Requirements
- Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- PALS Certification preferred or required depending on facility
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery, airway management, pain management, and emergency response
- Experience caring for adult surgical patients in an acute care hospital
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication, assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced perioperative environment
