Description:
Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least three months.
All facilities honor active compact licenses.
This role requires experience in pre-op for both inpatients and outpatients and phase II recovery ending with discharge home.
The focus will be on general surgery procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, bowel resections, and various vascular procedures.
Other procedures include plastics, mandibular surgery, eye surgeries, gynecological procedures, dental, thoracic surgeries (excluding open hearts), podiatry, and certain vascular pre-op tasks.
Approximately 3-4% of patients will be pediatrics, though travelers will not be assigned to pediatric cases.
The role also includes pre-op for cath lab procedures that are vascular and endoscopy related.
Nursing care may involve patients across various specialties including ENT, OB-GYN, robotic, transplant, and vascular cases.
Skills needed include but are not limited to arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients.
Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities if required.
Communication devices needed to perform duties may be provided at no cost.
Providers should remain flexible with scheduling and requests for time off must be communicated upfront.
