Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8-10 hours, flexible schedule Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or related specialty License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Active RN license BLS certification ACLS certification PALS certification Willingness to float to local affiliate hospital campus to meet clinical needs Description: This position involves providing care in the PACU environment. The unit has a total of 8 pre/post beds, 3 PACU bays, 3 operating rooms, and 1 procedure room. The department consists of 9-10 staff members. Patient ratios in PACU are 1-2. Pre-op ratios are 1, and post-op ratios are 2-3 in Phase II. The typical equipment includes IV pumps, orthopedic braces, icing coolers, and SCDs. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. Candidates without the required certifications will not be considered for the role. Preferred candidates will have CAPA or CPAN certification and experience in orthopedic total joint, spine, or sports medicine. Typical procedures performed include total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, orthopedic spine procedures, pain management, and orthopedic sports medicine procedures. The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, organized, and possesses strong communication skills. Candidates should be able to work with a small team and manage multiple assignments throughout the day. The dress code requires ceil blue scrubs provided with a lab coat, and there should be no visible tattoos or facial piercings. This position involves some call requirements, including evening and weekend shifts. The staff works in a collaborative environment with options for flexible schedule arrangements.
