Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - PACU

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and needs.
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within established time frames.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate the plan of care and perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - PACU

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA required.
