Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 12-bed PACU unit
• Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio, delivering safe and effective recovery-phase monitoring and intervention
• Administer and titrate drips and vasoactive medications per protocol
• Monitor, read, and interpret telemetry with accuracy and clinical confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from procedure to recovery
• Participate in holiday coverage as required unless the unit is closed (expected 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays)

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license (verified Active via Nursys at time of submission)
• AHA or ARC BLS - Basic Life Support (required)
• AHA ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required)
• AHA PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (required)
• Minimum 12 months of PACU/post-anesthesia care experience in a hospital, medical center, same-day surgery, or outpatient surgery setting
• Work history must reflect 24 months of current PACU/post-anesthesia care experience
• Current and recent pediatric care experience required
• Strong telemetry reading and measurement experience required
• Drips and titration experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skills checklist specific to PACU/post-anesthesia care required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Experience as a first-time traveler may be considered based on overall skills and experience
• Charge nurse or preceptor experience
