Key Responsibilities
Provide professional and clinical nursing care to post-anesthesia patients as part of an interdisciplinary care team
Manage patient care within a 1:2 patient ratio in the PACU setting
Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system to document and manage patient information
May be asked to float to the ICU as a resource (travelers will not take ICU patients independently)
May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
Active Iowa RN license or compact nursing license (must reflect Active status)
Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
Active ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
Active PALS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
Valid driver's license required
Completed PACU-specific skills checklist required
One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license address)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with EPIC EMR
ICU cross-training or background is a plus given float requirements
