Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,020 per week in Washington, DC

Description: Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed.

Recent PACU/pre-op experience required. Minimum 2 years ICU experience required. Candidates must possess the ability to think critically and work independently. Description: Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed. Obtain and record patients' vital signs. Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication. Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed. Update charting (EMR), patient files, and medical records. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions. On-call required: Saturday day shift from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Travelers are required to choose one Saturday when completing their 8-week schedule. On-call shifts for PACU include Saturday 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Travelers are asked to choose 2 day and 2 night shifts in an 8-week period.
