RN – Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Day Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the ASU/PACU team at a hospital in York, Maine. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients before and after surgical procedures, including monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience in an ASU/PACU or Critical Care unit and be comfortable participating in a weekend call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess vital signs.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition during recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
- Assess pain levels and provide appropriate pain management.
- Monitor patients for anesthesia-related complications and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery and discharge instructions.
- Participate in weekend call rotation as required.
