Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide post-anesthesia care for inpatient and outpatient surgical patients in a high-volume PACU unit handling approximately 45-60 cases per day
  • Manage a diverse patient population including MVA, GSW, polytrauma, neuro, colorectal, GYN/ONC, and ENT cases at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Perform stroke assessments, manage arterial lines, EVDs, ventilators, cardiac drips, sedation, and pain management
  • Draw and manage lab work, maintain IV access, and ensure medication safety using Omnicell dispensing and Plum ICU Medical IV pumps
  • Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including approximately 16 hours of call per 6-week scheduling period on night shift
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • ACLS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required - first-time travelers will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Level I Trauma center PACU experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR, Philips monitoring systems, and Omnicell medication dispensing
  • Experience with EVD management, CT management, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment with add-on cases
