Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours, Variable start 10 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. Experience: 2+ years of PACU experience required License: Active Michigan/MI License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: - Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (PACU) - 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years Description: This position maintains adequate respiratory and cardiac status of patients awakening from anesthesia. Continually assesses the patient and executes doctor's orders while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Regularly assesses patient needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice. Provides direct resident care, including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms. Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plan and collaborates with team members to suggest updates or revisions utilizing current information to improve patient care. Processes physician/provider orders and performs physician-ordered care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Follows up regarding medication changes and order clarifications. On-call is required, most likely one night per week with occasional weekend coverage. Occasional weekend coverage may be necessary.
