Job Opportunity – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts (either 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM); 4x8 or 5x8 schedules available. Average daily census of 40 patients with 9 treatment rooms. No call or weekend requirements.

  • Care for diverse patient population from infants through geriatrics
  • Contract end date: November 25, 2026
  • First-time travelers welcome with minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • 3-day unit orientation provided; scrubs provided
  • Minimal float requirement to nearby locations only if needed

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Ambulatory/outpatient work setting experience required
  • IV therapy skills: starting and maintaining IVs
  • Pre/post-op care competencies including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and obtaining operative consent
  • Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol and pain assessment/management
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pediatric PACU, Phase I PACU, and Phase II recovery experience
  • ENT and ophthalmology surgical case experience
  • Respiratory skills including airway assessment and placement of oral/nasal airways
  • Experience with general, local, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
  • Pediatric patient management experience
  • Emergency medication and reversal agent administration experience
