Job Opportunity – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts (either 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM); 4x8 or 5x8 schedules available. Average daily census of 40 patients with 9 treatment rooms. No call or weekend requirements.

- Minimal float requirement to nearby locations only if needed
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Ambulatory/outpatient work setting experience required
- IV therapy skills: starting and maintaining IVs
- Pre/post-op care competencies including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and obtaining operative consent
- Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol and pain assessment/management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pediatric PACU, Phase I PACU, and Phase II recovery experience
- ENT and ophthalmology surgical case experience
- Respiratory skills including airway assessment and placement of oral/nasal airways
- Experience with general, local, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
- Pediatric patient management experience
- Emergency medication and reversal agent administration experience
