Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures including endoscopy, hernia repairs, myomectomy, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, joint repairs/replacements, lumbar fusions, and general surgeries
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in a 14-bed PACU unit
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and fellow staff nurses to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
  • Float to Pre-Op as needed based on unit demands
  • Participate in on-call rotation, expected approximately once per night every two weeks
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in the state of Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of PACU experience
  • ACLS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with trauma patients in a PACU or surgical setting
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU environment
