Candidates must hold current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications. NIHSS certification is required for this role. Experience with Cerner is essential. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call coverage is required on holidays. The unit handles higher acuity cases, including thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery. A Charge Nurse and Supervisor oversee the unit. Candidates must be willing to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
