PICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. This role requires commitment and a specialized skill set to provide high-quality care to critically ill children.

Position Details

Contract Duration: 52 weeks
Shift Options:
- Night Shift: 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00)
- Day Shift: 3x12 Hours (07:00 - 19:00)
Schedule: Rotating shifts with no block schedules
Weekend Commitment: 3 weekends per six-week schedule
Holiday Requirement: Must work every other holiday and at least 2 out of 3 winter holidays

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PICU
Monitoring and managing critically ill pediatric patients
Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Documenting patient care and progress accurately
Floating to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as needed, based on staffing requirements

Qualifications

Valid BLS and PALS certifications are required
Relevant experience in pediatric cardiac care is a plus
Registered Nurse licensure in Virginia (VA) is required; pending applications may be considered
Ability to accommodate time-off requests with some restrictions, including an initial 2-week blackout period
Approval for up to 40 hours of time off during the contract is permitted
