Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

This position is for a Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse who will float to various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med-Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units. The role requires prior experience in both PICU and NICU settings and a strong comfort level with pediatric care.

Shift Details

• Nights
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No block scheduling accommodations or guarantees

Responsibilities

The Pediatric Float Pool Nurse is expected to:

• Provide high-quality patient care across various pediatric departments.
• Adapt to different units and patient needs efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid license (Virginia license can be pending).
• 2 years of experience in PICU required.
• Experience in NICU is mandatory.
• Peds PACU experience is highly preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS.
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required (may be submitted pending, with a fee applicable).
• Epic experience is mandatory.

Additional Information

Please note that time off approval is limited to 40 hours, and no requests for time off can be accommodated in the first two weeks of the assignment. The Nurse must adhere to the organization's float policy.
