Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. This role involves providing exceptional care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in their health status.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • May be required to float to the NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs.

Schedule

  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays.
  • Required to work 3 weekends per six-week schedule.
  • Time off may be requested but is not approved during the first 2 weeks of the contract. Up to 40 hours for time off can be approved thereafter.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia; applicants can be pending licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
  • Experience in pediatric cardiac care is a plus.
