Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring PALS certification and at least one year of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital setting
• Care for pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• CVICU and NICU experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma center experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current PALS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed
