OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates) - OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: - Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN - Clinician's middle initial - Requested time off - Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated - Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Department: Pediatrics - Almost Home Kids | RN - # Beds: 12 all private rooms. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1 to 3-4. - Required Certifications: PALS, BLS. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Cerebral Palsy, Chromosomal Disorders, Gastric Anomalies (short-Gut Syndrome), Metabolic disorders, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Premature Birth. Lots of trach vents. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Requires at least 1 year Pediatric ICU. - Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge nurse 24/7, they make assignments, and they take a pt. assignment. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: We utilize PCT's, 2 PCT's staffed 0700-2300, 1 PCT staffed 2300-0700. - Pediatrician in house 24/7?: APN in house coverage M-F 0800-1700. Medical Director on-call 24/7, and on call physicians. - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Yes vents. Our nursing staff provides all RT treatments. We have trach/vent patients and we use pulse ox nonin, vents LTV and Trilogy 100. - Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts 0700-1900 & 1900-0700, no rotation. We do allow for block scheduling. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or every third weekend (depending on filled/functioning of the department) Dayshift: Sat/Sun Nightshift: Fri/Sat. - Holiday Requirement: Yes on a rotation basis. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No. - Floating Requirements: We typically do not float. Possibility of floating to PIC or PICU at Children's Hospital. - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Any scrubs acceptable. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 12 hour shifts of orientation. - Additional Notes: No pharmacy on site and yes nurses prep meds.
