Clinical Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and certifications to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Manage basic dressing changes and various medical devices including ventilators, trachs, and g-tubes/j-tubes.
  • Conduct suctioning and provide care for feeding tubes and chest tubes.
  • Administer epidurals and patient-controlled analgesia (PCAs).
  • Manage IV drip rates and Foley insertion and management.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and assist with care continuity.
  • Provide care for diverse patient types including respiratory patients, those with oncology needs, and trauma cases.
  • Assist with CRRT using the Prismax system, experience preferred.
  • Support patients in high-stress situations including Stat categories and surgical procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in the Critical Care Unit (CICU) is preferred.
  • Strong ability in handling respiratory patients (high flow, CPAP, BiPAP), as well as management of chronic illnesses.
  • Certifications: BLS and PALS required.

Patient Care

The position involves working with a variety of patient populations, including those with:

  • Respiratory issues: CPAP, BiPAP.
  • Oncology needs and other chronic conditions.
  • Trauma cases such as falls or MVAs.
  • Surgical cases including appendectomies, bowel obstructions, and more.
  • Patients with congenital heart defects.

Working Environment

This role will require flexibility in scheduling, including every other weekend rotation. Shifts are available from 0700-1900 or 1900-0700. Scrub colors are flexible, although hooded shirts and long sleeves must not extend below the elbow.

Floating Expectations

Travel across multiple locations may be required as a part of standard operations, including potential floating to MedSurg, ED, or NICU as needed for support.

Technology

Familiarity with Epic EMR is preferred for documentation and patient management purposes.
