Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) The organization is seeking a qualified Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) professional to provide expert care in a Level II Trauma Center. This position involves managing a diverse patient population up to age 30, with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic congenital heart defects, surgical recoveries, neuro, respiratory, and medical diagnoses, primarily within the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCICU).
Job Details
- Position Description: The role encompasses SIMPLIFI CLINICAL INTERVIEWING and UNIT FINAL REVIEW.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), relevant experience in Pediatric Intensive Care, at least 2 years of experience with PICU patients, including a minimum of 1 year specifically in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). Valid license and certifications are required.
- Schedule: Day shift, hours from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730, totaling 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The position requires proficiency in managing a wide variety of pediatric cardiovascular, respiratory, and medical conditions, including post-surgical recovery, ECMO, and CRRT (if experienced). The role may involve floating to MedSurg, Emergency Department, or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and includes every other weekend rotation. Staff will not be on call but may be called in for low-census periods.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience with cardiac patients, surgeries, aseptic techniques, ventilator and trach management, central and peripheral blood draws, and patient discharges. Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records is preferred.
