Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Details

The Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse will work in a float pool setting, providing care across various pediatric units. This role requires flexibility to adapt to different unit needs while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), totaling 36 hours per week.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Rotation: Participation in holiday shifts as required.

Patient Ratios

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 to 1:3, ensuring that personalized care is provided to each patient.

Floating Requirements

Clinicians will float within their scope to meet facility needs, including assignments to the CVPICU, NICU, and PICU units.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience is required.
• First-time travelers may be considered if they possess the necessary experience.
• A current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License is necessary.
• Certifications Required: BLS and PALS (only from the American Heart Association).
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with ECMO and CRRT is advantageous.

Additional Information

• Accommodating block schedules may be possible, subject to manager approval based on unit needs.
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius for consideration.
• All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application, with approval determined by unit needs.
• There is a possibility of being called off one shift every two weeks.
• During hurricane season (June to November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams if necessary.
