Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse for a float pool position that will offer flexibility and opportunities to work in various pediatric units. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to diverse patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care in various pediatric units, ensuring safety and comfort for patients.
• Support critically ill children in a fast-paced environment while maintaining appropriate staffing ratios of 1:2 or 1:3.
• Float between pediatric units as needed, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement patient care plans effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience is required.
• Current South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License.
• Certifications required: BLS and PALS (from the American Heart Association).
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT is preferred.

Work Schedule

Night shift pattern of 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week. Required to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations.

Team Dynamics

As a member of the float pool, you will need to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to collaborate with different units to meet patient care demands.

Additional Information

All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, and approval depends on unit needs. During hurricane season, all staff may be assigned to emergency response roles, so be prepared for this potential requirement.
