Title: Registered Nurse – PICU
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12, 19:00–07:00

 

Requirements:

  • 1 year PICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted
  • BLS and PALS required
  • Epic experience required
  • Patient ratio: 1:2
  • Experience with pediatric critical care, including ventilated patients and high-acuity pediatric cases
  • Strong experience with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ventilator management, ABGs, suctioning, and intubation assistance
  • Experience with central/PICC lines, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and emergency medications
  • EVD, ICP monitoring, VP shunts, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-cardiac surgery experience preferred

Description:

  • Provide critical care to neonates, infants, pediatric, and adolescent patients in an 18-bed PICU.
  • Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends.
  • Manage patients requiring ventilator support, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, continuous sedation, and vasoactive medications.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-cardiac surgery care.
  • Provide neurological critical care including EVD, ICP monitoring, and hydrocephalus/VP shunt management.
  • Follow isolation precautions/PPE and collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, and other interdisciplinary teams.
  • Float may be required to Pediatric Med-Surg and NICU.
