Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) specialty in a Level II trauma and NICU facility. This role involves providing specialized critical care for respiratory, trauma, cardiovascular, and surgical pediatric patients, including those requiring ventilator and trach management, line management, and other advanced clinical interventions. The position is suitable for new travelers and requires a dedicated healthcare professional to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse pediatric patient population.
Job Details
- Position Description: SIMPLIFI CLINICAL INTERVIEWING. Experience required: 2 years. Skills required include aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, G-tube/J-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip management, Foley insertion and management, discharge skills, and CRRT experience with Prismax preferred; CICU experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS, PALS.
- Schedule: Days and nights shifts available, 12-hour shift times from 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, with minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: (Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, Years of Experience): Experience required in pediatrics or critical care, 0 years minimum experience, valid BLS and PALS certifications, ability to work the specified shifts, and relevant clinical skills.
- Additional Information: The facility manages a 152-bed NICU and Level II trauma center, caring for patients from newborn age up to 30 during COVID surge. The unit involves a mixture of neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and medical patients, with occasional float to MedSurg, ED, or NICU. Use of Epic EMR preferred. The position includes every other weekend rotation, with flexible scrub colors (no hoods or long sleeves).
