Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional care to pediatric patients within our critical care units, and requires adaptability to float to various pediatric units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in critical care settings.
• Float between various pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU based on unit needs.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.

Schedule

• Work requirement: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, with night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Guaranteed Hours: The facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks.

Patient Ratios

• Typical patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, depending on the unit and acuity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric ICU experience; first-time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements.
• Current South Carolina RN license or a Multi-State/Compact State RN license.
• Required certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only).
• Preferred experience in ECMO and CRRT.

Additional Information

• This position may require participation in emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and will be evaluated based on unit needs.
• Managers' approval is required for block schedule accommodations, based on unit needs.
• Local candidates are welcome and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
