Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Details

This position offers flexibility with evening and night shifts, including:

  • 4x12 Hour Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • 4x12 Hour Shifts: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Work schedule options available: Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday.

Job Description

The Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric PACU experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is mandatory.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license is required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by AHA is required.
  • Travelers must successfully pass a Telemetry test prior to starting the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patients' recovery from anesthesia.
  • Administer medications and provide post-operative care.
  • Coordinate care with surgical teams and family members.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions accurately.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
