Job Summary
Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse - Recovery Room Pediatrics, Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized peri-anesthetic management for complex pediatric surgical and procedural patients, including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. The role requires independent care delivery in a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and surgical center with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
Job Details
- Position Description: Pediatric PACU RN responsible for peri-anesthetic management of diverse pediatric perioperative patients, including surgical and procedural cases.
- Required Qualifications: WI registered nurse (RN) license or compact RN license (pending submission accepted), minimum of 2 years of pediatric PACU experience, BLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (American Heart Association).
- Certifications: BLS, PALS.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, with flexibility for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, typically from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am or 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
- Additional Requirements: Prior telemetry testing and successful passing of a telemetry exam with strict criteria, including limited attempts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, charting system experience in Epic, community hospital experience, and trauma level II experience.
- Responsibilities: Providing independent peri-anesthetic care, managing pediatric airway and vascular access devices, monitoring post-operative patients, following safety protocols, and administering medications as needed.
- Submission Requirements: Submittal to include verification of pediatric PACU experience, RN licensure, and successful telemetry testing completion.
