Location: Northern New Jersey
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; every other weekend; floating required to NICU Level III, PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery based on patient needs
Highlights
- Join a 56-bed Level III NICU at a Regional Perinatal Center caring for over 1,200 premature and critically ill newborns annually
- Float pool role supporting Level III NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery with appropriate assignments based on your skill set
- Work within a 597-bed teaching hospital affiliated with a major medical school, providing access to pediatric subspecialists and full-time critical care physicians
- Epic electronic medical record system experience required
- Patient ratios designed to support quality care based on acuity and staffing levels
- Winter holiday requirement: must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
Requirements
- Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience in employment history
- Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
- Demonstrated experience with IV therapy including A-line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
- Proficiency in cardiac/respiratory care including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with neonatal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), NG/NJ tube placement and management, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
- Epic charting system experience required
- At least one supervisory reference required at time of submission
- Willingness to float between units without exception and accept appropriate patient assignments based on competencies
